1. I understand that you offer Sports Massage and Injury Treatment, how does that differ from the massage that I have at the beauticians?
Sara - Sports massage is very similar to the massage you receive at a beauty spa. We both use Swedish massage techniques but sports massage can be a little deeper and works on problem areas to help eliminate tension and knots within the muscles. Sports massage can be just as relaxing as a beauty massage. I will work in a way that best suits each individual and tailor the massage specifically to the client.
2. Do you use massage oils?
Sara - I mainly use massage cream, but I can also use massage oils if requested.
3. I only like a gentle massage, is that possible?
Sara - I will massage as deeply or as lightly as each individual prefers. I want everyone to enjoy the massage!
4. How do I know if I need a 30 minute or 1 hour appointment?
Sara - the length of time you have for your massage is a personal preference. Some people like an hour so they have time to fully relax and some people prefer a shorter massage to fit in to their busy day. I can work on more areas in an hour appointment so for example if you require a full back, neck and shoulder massage or back and legs an hour is preferable. If you need a specific area working on for example neck and shoulders or just legs I can do this in 30 minutes. I will advise you of the length of appointment for your subsequent treatments after your first session.
Also, a 30 minute appointment is the perfect length to come and have a taster session and see if it is beneficial for you.
5. Do I have to book regular massages or can I have a one off treatment and see how I get on?
Sara - you don't need to book in regular massages. You are more than welcome to see how you get on. Most people do find that a massage once a month or once every 6 weeks helps to keep the aches and pains at bay.
6. What are the charges?
Sara - £21 for 30 mins or £41 for 1 hour. Please expect a few minutes of the time to be spent getting yourself ready for the massage.
7. What days do you work?
Sara – I work Wednesday and Friday 9am-6pm.
8. I currently see a Chiropractor / Acupuncturist at the clinic. Will you have access to their notes and do I need to ask them first if I can go ahead?
Sara - If you are seeing a chiropractor or acupuncturist at the clinic I will only be able to access your notes with your permission. This will allow me to complement the treatment you are already receiving. You don't need to ask your chiropractor or acupuncturist to see me but if you are unsure, you can always ask them if they think that a massage will be beneficial.
9. Is there a minimum or maximum age for a massage?
Sara - There is no minimum or maximum age limit to receiving massage. It is beneficial for all ages from babies upwards.
10. Do you have gift vouchers as I would like to treat a friend?
Sara - Gift vouchers are available to buy for presents for family and friends. You can choose a 30 minute or hour voucher. Gift vouchers are ideal for Birthdays, Christmas, Mother’s/Father’s day and Valentine’s Day.
